The Cryopen is a medical device used to remove skin growths and tumors by freezing them with a very precise fine stream of liquid nitrogen. The device has different sized openings to control the amount of freezing to limit damage to normal tissue.
The advantage to using the cryopen is that anesthesia is not necessary to remove small growths. This is especially important for older pets or pets that have sensitivity to anesthesia. The procedure can be done on an outpatient basis so you do not have to leave your pet if they are anxious about being left. After the growth has been treated (frozen) they simply dry up and fall off after about two weeks.
If your pet has small skin tags or small skin tumors, let us take a look at them to let you know if we can use the cryopen on them.
